Prof.Dr.Arie Lavie
Arie Lavie obtained his PhD in Applied Mathematics in the Weizman Institute of Science, and his post-doctor studies accomplished in the University of Cambridge. Presently he is Full Professor in the New York Institute of Technology and he is President of the research CTI-Creative Technologies Israel organization. Professor Lavie was coordinator of EU financed USE HAAS (High Altitude Aircraft and Airships) project (contract number 516081). Main research activities of Lavie are in fields of Aerospace/ Aeronautics and in Alternative Energies / Hybrid Propulsion of aircraft and ground vehicles.
Work Programme
USE HAAS
The study will last 18 months starting on 1st March 2005.
The work will cover the following points:
analysis of the developments and projects and the world state of the art
define the objectives and possible applications based on an analysis of the needs
organization of different workshops resulting in various WG (Working Groups) with continuous discussions between the workshops
identification of the potential end-users and technological partners
understanding of the research needs for the future
definition of a common research agenda for this technology sector
final conclusions, policy and strategy definition.
